Founded in 1916 and headquartered in the United States, AACSB is the oldest and most respected global accreditation body for business education. Renowned for its rigorous evaluation process, the AACSB accreditation is awarded to institutions that meet the highest standards of strategic management, innovation, student success, thought leadership, and societal impact.
IBA’s journey to accreditation involved years of preparation, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor, and an extensive review by a Peer Review Team (PRT) comprising deans of AACSB-accredited institutions. The process culminated in a comprehensive on-site assessment and validation of SBS’s alignment with AACSB’s nine accreditation standards.
The achievement underscores IBA’s enduring commitment to academic excellence and its mission to develop future-ready business leaders.
Achieving AACSB status also means that IBA will now undergo Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) cycles, maintaining its global benchmarks and striving for ongoing advancement in business education.
This international recognition is expected to significantly enhance the global reputation and employability of IBA graduates. According to AACSB’s 2024 analysis, 73% of CEOs in Fortune 100 companies and 75% of the highest-paid CEOs in S&P 500 companies have earned degrees from AACSB-accredited institutions—highlighting the powerful influence of this elite academic network.
With this accomplishment, IBA Karachi strengthens its position not just as a leader in Pakistan’s business education landscape, but also as a globally competitive institution shaping the business leaders of tomorrow.
