Instead, the schools will provide pigeonholes and book racks in the classrooms to store the books, creating a child-friendly and convenient learning environment. This initiative aims to reduce the weight of heavy school bags and promote a healthier and happier learning experience for students.
Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, while speaking to Dawn, said he had been working on the policy for over a month, and all arrangements would be finalized before the schools reopen.
“The decision is a welcome move for parents and students alike and is expected to have a positive impact on young minds. The new policy will come into effect from August 1, and necessary arrangements are being made in all government primary schools in the capital,” he said.
Mr. Wani hoped that the new policy would bring smiles to the faces of young learners.
