Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General, COMSTECH met with H. E. Nong Rong the Ambassador of Peoples Republic of China. Both the dignitaries discussed the avenues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of science and technology between the two nations as well as in the OIC region. The Ambassador showed keen interest in the development and promotion of Chinese traditional medicine in Pakistan. Prof. Choudhary appreciated the idea and agreed on joint venture for the promotion and development of Chinese traditional medicine in collaboration with the Pakistani institutions.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary is world renowned medicinal chemist. He has published 1,175 research papers in the fields of organic and bioorganic chemistry in international journals, 76 books and 40 chapters in books published by major US and European press. He has secured 40 US patents so far. Dr. Iqbal is D.Sc., Ph.D., and C. Chem. He has been awarded by different governments of Pakistan with Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary is currently serving as Coordinator General, COMSTECH and Director, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi.
