A condolence reference and poetry recital was organized in the memory of renowned poet, writer, and intellectual Syed Aftab Ahmad Shah under the auspices of literary and cultural organization Irtqa in collaboration with the Punjab Arts Council. Apart from the poets of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, poets from other cities also participated. The program has consisted of two sessions. The first part consisted of a condolence reference while the second part has consisted of a poetry recital. Muhammad Izhar-ul-Haq and Prof. Sharif Ashraf presided over the program while special guests were Anjum Salimi, Saima Aftab, Fazal Gilani, Afzal Paras, and Wafa Chishti.Advertisement:
Guests of honor included Iftikhar Falak and Raees Ghauri. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Well-known poet Sail presented Naat. Danish Aziz performed as anchorperson of the event. Tahir Baloch, Saima Aftab, Naseem Sehar, Prof. Sharif Ashraf, and Muhammad Aziarul Haq spoke beautifully on the personality of Syed Aftab Ahmad Shah.
