A total of 19 flights were called off, disrupting travel between various destinations. Among the impacted flights were services by Air Sial and PIA, scheduled to depart from Karachi to Islamabad, along with an Emirates Air flight bound for Dubai.
Flights operated by Fly Jinnah from Karachi to Lahore and Fly Baghdad from Karachi to Baghdad were also included in the list of cancellations. Furthermore, PIA’s flights from Karachi to Jeddah and Karachi to Islamabad faced disruptions, compounding the travel woes.
Sources from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) attributed the cancellations to notably low passenger loads, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan. The decision to cancel flights was taken in light of the reduced demand for air travel observed during this period.
Passengers affected by these cancellations were urged to reach out to their respective airlines for further assistance and to explore alternative travel arrangements.
