In an effort to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, the Islamabad Police have announced a special security plan in response to the current security situation in the city. As part of the plan, temporary security check posts have been set up at 25 different locations throughout Islamabad. The entrances to the red zone will be monitored by Safe City cameras, and the video footage of metro service passengers will also be recorded.

Citizens are advised to carry their identification documents at all times and to use excise office-issued number plates on their vehicles. Those found using illegal number plates or driving unregistered vehicles will face legal action. Foreign nationals, in particular, are encouraged to carry their identification documents with them at all times.

In addition, citizens are encouraged to register tenants and employees at their nearest police station or khidmat markaz. Those who employ unregistered local or foreign workers may also be subject to investigation.
