Public Outrage: The video triggered widespread worry on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram. Users expressed concerns about the potential for receiving such flawed notes and urged caution when handling cash.
Blaming the System: Many comments blamed the Pakistan Security Printing Press and the State Bank for negligence. Calls for stricter quality control and accountability against the printing staff and the bank arose.
Social Media Debate: While some criticized the bank manager for posting the video online instead of following internal reporting procedures, others highlighted the importance of raising public awareness.
State Bank Responds: The SBP acknowledged the situation and assured the public of an ongoing investigation to determine the video’s authenticity. The bank’s spokesperson downplayed the incident, stating it’s a rare occurrence limited to a single branch, if true.
Unanswered Questions: While the investigation is underway, several questions remain unanswered. The full extent of the issue, the cause of the printing error, and potential corrective measures are yet to be addressed comprehensively.
