Date:

The highly anticipated results for the Rs750 denomination prize bond draw, held today, July 15, 2025, in Rawalpindi, have been officially announced by the National Savings Centre. This draw, a significant event for millions of Pakistani savers, has revealed the latest set of lucky winners, with a first prize of Rs1.5 million.

The draw, which commenced at 10:00 AM, saw Prize Bond Number 953346 clinch the coveted first prize of Rs1.5 million. Following this, three fortunate bondholders secured the second prize, each receiving Rs500,000. The winning numbers for the second prize are 294897, 651248, and 965105. The Directorate of National Savings will release the comprehensive list of third prize winners, each receiving Rs9,300, on their official website.

Tax Implications for Winners: Alongside the announcement of winners, there are important updates regarding the tax implications on prize money. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has implemented new withholding tax rates:

  • Filers: A 15% tax deduction will be applied to prize bond winnings.
  • Non-Filers: These individuals will face a significantly higher tax deduction of 30% on their winnings.

These changes are part of broader fiscal reforms aimed at enhancing tax compliance and formalizing the national economy. Experts suggest that the increased tax burden on non-filers might encourage more citizens to register with the tax system.

Enduring Popularity of Prize Bonds: Despite the revised tax rates, prize bonds continue to be a popular investment choice across Pakistan. They offer a secure, government-backed avenue for citizens to save and potentially grow their money. Available in various denominations, from Rs100 to Rs40,000, they cater to a wide range of financial capacities.

Managed by the Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) in collaboration with the State Bank since the 1960s, the prize bond scheme provides a mechanism for Pakistanis to safeguard their savings from inflation and currency devaluation, coupled with the exciting prospect of winning substantial cash prizes.

The next Rs750 prize bond draw is scheduled for October 15, 2025, in Muzaffarabad. The complete schedule for all prize bond denominations for 2025 is available on the National Savings website, offering multiple opportunities for participants throughout the year.
