MOL Pakistan Joins Hungary’s National Day Celebration

MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company B.V. sponsored the Hungarian Day celebration, hosted by the Embassy of Hungary in Pakistan to mark Hungary’s National Day. The event brought together diplomats, joint venture partners, government representatives, and other dignitaries to commemorate the revolution of 1956, and to strengthen the friendship between Hungary and Pakistan.

The evening concluded with a display of Hungarian art and culture, through exemplary performances by Hungarian folk dancers who flew in from Hungary for the occasion.

The event reflects the shared commitment of both nations to dialogue and cooperation. By supporting the Embassy’s diplomatic initiatives, MOL Pakistan aims to contribute to stronger bilateral relations between Hungary and Pakistan and continue its role as a responsible corporate citizen in both countries.

The Chief Guest on the occasion, Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said, “Pakistan and Hungary share a friendship built on mutual respect and a desire to work together. We appreciate the Embassy of Hungary for organizing this event, and we value the role of companies like MOL Pakistan, which contribute to our economy and to our communities while helping bring our two countries closer.”

The Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan, Dr. Zoltan Varga, welcoming the guests, said that Pakistan and Hungary had a long-standing bilateral relationship and that it was growing in multiple sectors. He especially mentioned cooperation in the fields of energy and education and looked forward to more avenues of mutual interest.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Matić Saša, Chief Executive Officer, MOL Pakistan, said, “Hungary’s National Day is an occasion of great pride for all of us at MOL, and we are honored to celebrate it together with the Embassy of Hungary. Celebrations such as National Days cement understanding between people and nations, and we are pleased to play a part in bringing Hungarian heritage and traditions closer to our friends and partners in Pakistan.”

Mr. Ali Murtaza Abbas, Regional Vice President, MOL Group, added, “As a Hungarian company that has made Pakistan its operational home, MOL views itself as a bridge, bringing Hungarian expertise and standards to Pakistan and showing Hungary the potential of Pakistan as a place to invest and grow. Hungarian Day is a welcome opportunity to strengthen that bridge together with the Embassy.”
