The call follows serious allegations including forgery, favoritism, embezzlement of funds, and abuse of authority.
“Our objective is accountability, not sensationalism,” the officials stated. “Cricket must be governed with transparency and integrity.”
Governance and Legal Action: Pervez and Moledina allege that Muhammad Shoaib misused his positions and removed them as directors without a properly convened meeting, subsequently appointing his wife as director. They claim BSL was operated without lawful governance procedures.
A legal notice has been served through counsel, challenging the unauthorized removal of directors, improper filings, and alleged misuse of corporate funds.
BSL is a federal not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation governed by the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA). All authority, the notice states, must arise from properly convened member meetings and lawful board resolutions.
Financial Demand: Muhammad Shoaib has been formally required to repay disputed funds totaling CAD $39,181 by 5:00 p.m. on February 12, 2026, or provide a legally supported repayment plan. He has also been directed to return all corporate property in his possession.
Ground Allocation Concerns: BSL officials have further requested that the City cancel all grounds allocated to organizations linked to Shoaib. They stated that more than 24 cricket teams have formally requested allocation of City of Brampton grounds for the 2026 season.
Call for Independent Investigation: The officials are demanding a fair and independent investigation by Mayor Patrick Brown and Brampton City Council to ensure transparency and protect public trust.
Mediation committee member Yusuf German confirmed that Muhammad Shoaib was invited to present his position at the press conference but declined.
“This is only the beginning,” said Faisal Moledina. “We are prepared to present further documentation, and legal action will intensify.”
