The 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) is being held in Belém, Brazil. In coordination with the Summit, BYD deployed a 130-vehicle new energy fleet for the event, used as shuttle services for heads of state and delegates from around the world, ensuring low-carbon transportation throughout the conference while supporting decarbonization efforts in the Amazon region.

On November 17, Tyler Li, President of BYD Brazil, delivered a keynote address at COP30, highlighting the role of technological innovation in global low-carbon development and emphasizing that the large-scale adoption of new energy vehicles is essential to reducing emissions in the transportation sector. Mr. Li noted that BYD is accelerating this transition through breakthroughs such as the Fifth Generation DM Super Hybrid and Flash Charging technologies, which make new energy vehicle solutions more convenient for users and help remove barriers to their adoption worldwide.

During COP30, BYD’s new store in Belém was officially unveiled, with prominent Brazilian officials in attendance, including Bahia State Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, Chief of Staff Rui Costa, and Tourism Minister Celso Sabino. This milestone marks BYD’s strategic commitment to Amazon region decarbonization, with plans to transform the area into a hub for green transportation and sustainable mobility solutions.
