Russian House in Karachi in collaboration with Punjab Council of the Arts presented the performance of two classical theatres ‘The Hazards of Smoking and Marriage Proposal’ adopted from famous Russian writer, Anton Chekhov. The cast of the plays was Mujtaba Zaidi, Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Fariha Aqib, and Kashif Meer.

The aim of the plays was a cultural exchange between Russia and Pakistan for strengthening of diplomatic relations. Addressing at the occasion, Mushaal Hussein Mullcik, Chairperson Peace and Culture, Russian writer, Anton Chekhov has distinct place in literature. She further said that Anton Chekhov unveiled the social issues beautifully.
