Daraz Pakistan to Stream “Pakistan Idol” Digitally

Date:

Daraz Pakistan is bringing “Pakistan Idol” to the Daraz app, placing the country’s most anticipated music competition a tap away on smartphones. Produced under license from Fremantle’s global “Idol” franchise, the series returns to Pakistan after more than a decade with a larger stage, broader reach, and a judging panel that brings together major voices from film and music. Streaming on Daraz begins October 18, 2025, with episodes airing every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM PKT. Access on Daraz is free for all users with no subscription or payment required.

The new edition will be broadcast simultaneously across five television networks in Pakistan, which marks the first time an “Idol” franchise has pursued such a wide national rollout. Daraz will carry the show digitally alongside broadcast, allowing viewers to watch live and catch up on demand in one place without charge.

“Pakistan Idol” features Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Bilal Maqsood on the judges’ panel, uniting talent from cinema, pop, qawwali, and contemporary music. The season is positioned to blend popular appeal with deep musical credibility, as contestants interpret classics and experiment across genres. By making the show available on mobile phones, Daraz opens a national stage to new voices from small towns and major cities, helping regional sounds travel to mainstream audiences and giving fans a central destination to follow the journey week by week.

“Daraz is proud to help bring Pakistan Idol back to audiences everywhere in Pakistan,” said Ehsan Saya, Managing Director, Daraz Pakistan & Sri Lanka. “Our goal is simple. We want every fan to enjoy the show live and on demand, whether they are at home or on the move. This initiative reflects our commitment to high-quality local content and to building shared cultural moments that unite viewers.”

“Our collaboration with Daraz represents a strategic milestone in expanding the reach and relevance of the Idol franchise in Pakistan,” said Zoya Merchant, Director, MHL Global. “By leveraging Daraz’s digital ecosystem, we’re enabling seamless access to premium entertainment content and strengthening the connection between audiences, artists, and the Idol brand.”
