Four Dead, 20 Injured in Tragic Bus Accident Near Sultan Colony

A tragic bus accident claimed the lives of four passengers and left over 20 others seriously injured on Monday when a speeding bus overturned along the TP Link Canal near Sultan Colony.

The bus, traveling from Rawalpindi to Multan, suffered a tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off course and overturned, leading to the devastating incident.

Local residents quickly responded, rushing to the scene and alerting rescue officials. Rescue teams reported that four passengers died instantly due to severe head injuries, while more than 20 others sustained critical injuries.

The injured were initially taken to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. Some of the critically injured patients were later transferred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan for advanced care. The bodies of the deceased were transported to a local hospital and subsequently handed over to their families.

Kot Addu Deputy Commissioner Syed Munawar Abbas Bukhari and DPO Syed Hasnain Haider visited the accident site to oversee rescue operations. Teams from rescue services and the Kot Addu police worked tirelessly to extricate passengers and recover bodies, using cutting tools to navigate the wreckage.

The bus involved in the accident was operated by a private transport company. Officials attributed the crash to a combination of speeding and the tyre burst. The accident occurred near Head Muhammadwala, a known traffic hotspot.
