Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has rejected US President Donald Trump’s call for an unconditional surrender, warning Washington against military intervention amid intensifying Israeli airstrikes on Tehran.

In a televised statement read on state TV, Khamenei declared that “peace or war cannot be imposed on the Islamic Republic,” and cautioned against using threats to coerce Iran into submission. “Intelligent people who understand Iran, its people, and its history will never address this nation in the language of threats,” he said. “The Iranian nation will not surrender.”
Khamenei’s remarks follow a dramatic escalation in the region, with thousands of residents fleeing Tehran overnight after Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes across the capital. According to Israel’s military, 50 fighter jets struck approximately 20 key targets, including facilities tied to Iran’s missile production infrastructure.
Amid growing tensions, a source familiar with White House discussions revealed that President Trump is weighing options to join Israel in targeting Iranian nuclear sites. While no decision has been made, the possibility of coordinated US-Israeli strikes has fueled fears of a broader conflict.
Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, issued a stern warning, stating that Tehran would retaliate against any direct US involvement. “The United States is already complicit in what Israel is doing,” he said, adding that any American military action would trigger “irreparable damage.”
The latest developments mark a dangerous turning point in US-Iran-Israel relations, with the potential to spiral into a full-scale regional war if diplomatic efforts fail to restrain further military escalation.
