Responsible sources have revealed that the Pakistan Railways’ online tracking application has uncovered a corruption of millions of rupees. Pakistan Railways officials informed TaazaTaren that four years ago, the IT department of Railways Pakistan installed a system in all trains through the online tracking mobile phone application, allowing users to track the arrival of trains on their mobile phones.

Sources have reported that at present, more than 5 million passengers traveling on Pakistan Railways trains are using this online tracking application via the internet. Sources further revealed that the usernames and passwords for online tracking were provided to Pakistan Railways by Karachi-based software company Easyway, whose owner’s name has been identified as Mir Shujaat Ali Muz, through unlawful means. This individual, who later created a life-tracking application, began taking crores of rupees a month from Pakistan Railways, without providing any benefit in return.
Sources have also stated that all the advertisements for online tracking are obtained through social media and other channels by senior officers of the Railways and IT department, earning crores of rupees in this fraudulent scheme.
It is regrettable that Pakistan Railways officials and officials of the IT department have not cooperated with multiple attempts to ascertain their stance on this matter. Pakistan Railways, which was once the lifeline of the country, is now in decline. Railway employees and other departments are involved in technical work, but due to their lack of knowledge about cybercrime, they are warming up the market for corruption.
Regarding this fraud, we made every possible effort to ascertain the position of railway officers, but no one is willing to speak on the record. According to Railway spokesman, the online tracking application is being run under the supervision of Pakistan Railways.
