Pakistan car sales rose 43% year on year to 41,872 units in the first quarter of FY2026-27 (July-September 2026), according to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
Pakistan car sales by segment
Jeeps and pickups fell 34% to 8,608 units, while trucks rose 53% to 2,516 units. Buses slipped 5% to 211 units, farm tractors rose 38% to 4,109 units, and two- and three-wheelers climbed 28% to 553,994 units.
In September alone, car sales fell nearly 10% to 10,939 units from 12,126 units a year earlier.
Outlook and auto policy
Analysts attribute the quarterly rise to an improving macroeconomic environment. PAMA Director General Razi-ur-Rahman linked the momentum to easing inflation and said volumes are recovering steadily, but that manufacturers and buyers remain hesitant to make investment decisions because of a lack of clarity about the auto policy.
