The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a significant financial initiative to attract top-tier international talent for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. A special fund, now totaling $1 million, has been established to provide an additional $100,000 bonus to each of six high-profile foreign players participating in the tournament.

This initiative is part of the PCB’s strategy to elevate the PSL’s global standing by securing marquee players. Notably, Australian cricketer David Warner, signed by the Karachi Kings, is set to earn $300,000 for his participation, with $100,000 contributed from the PCB’s special fund.
The special fund was created following an agreement to allocate $500,000 annually to support elite player salaries once the central revenue pool’s net broadcast revenue reached Rs. 3 billion. As the fund remained unused last year, it has now accumulated to $1 million.
The PSL 2025 is scheduled from April 17 to May 22, coinciding with the Indian Premier League (IPL), which runs from March 21 until the end of May. This overlap presents a unique scenario, as several foreign players participating in the PSL went unsold during the recent IPL auction. The PCB’s enhanced financial packages aim to attract these players, thereby bolstering the league’s competitiveness and entertainment value.
By offering lucrative incentives, the PCB demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the PSL’s profile and providing fans with high-quality cricketing action. This move is expected to not only attract top international talent but also contribute to the overall growth and development of cricket in Pakistan.
