Expansion and New Rivalries

The 2026 season officially welcomes two new franchises: Sialkot Stallions and Hyderabad Kingsmen. The tournament is expected to kick off on March 26 at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, featuring a clash between the defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, and the newcomers, Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Key Dates & Playoff Structure

The 39-day cricket extravaganza will consist of 44 matches played across two distinct phases to accommodate the larger number of teams without extending the window excessively.

• League Kick-off: March 26, 2026

• Qualifier 1: May 2 (Rawalpindi)

• Eliminator 1: May 3 (Lahore)

• Eliminator 2: May 5 (Lahore)

• The Grand Final: May 10, 2026 (Likely at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore)

Host Cities and Venue Debuts

In a move to take cricket to more fans, the PCB has included Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium as a host venue for the first time in PSL history. The matches will be distributed across:

1. Lahore (Gaddafi Stadium)

2. Karachi (National Bank Cricket Arena)

3. Rawalpindi (Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium)

4. Multan (Multan Cricket Stadium)

5. Peshawar (Imran Khan Cricket Stadium – subject to final readiness)

6. Faisalabad (Iqbal Stadium)

The “New Format” Explained

To maintain a tight schedule, each team will play 10 matches in the league stage. The top four teams will then progress to a “Super Four” or directly into the traditional playoff system (Qualifier and Eliminators) to determine the finalists for the May 10 showdown.
