The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) orders telecom operators to fix problems with mobile coverage, voice calls and internet services within set deadlines, after stepping up monitoring of networks across the country.
Between October 8 and 14, 2026, PTA teams from its 10 zonal offices carried out checks in different parts of the country, including Thatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mandi Bahauddin, Quetta, Faisalabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Why PTA orders telecom operators to act
During the site visits, PTA officials found issues affecting consumers, including weak coverage and service problems. The operators concerned were directed to resolve these within specified timelines.
The authority also confirmed that an issue caused by the closure of a telecom site in Faisalabad has been resolved.
The latest drive follows PTA’s inspection of 115 telecom sites in a single week earlier this month, part of a wider push to improve mobile service quality for users.
What it means for mobile users
Complaints about dropped calls and slow mobile internet remain common in many cities and rural areas. PTA said it will keep working with operators, relevant organisations and local administrations to improve network performance.
Users facing persistent coverage or internet problems can register complaints with their operator and, if unresolved, with PTA through its complaint management system.
