The newly acquired drone can airlift people weighing up to 200 kilograms, allowing for rapid rescue during floods and natural disasters. Following successful test flights in Lahore, the equipment was dispatched to Multan, where floods have left several residents stranded.

Home Secretary Punjab said the province will buy ten more drones for Civil Defense. “Our personnel are the frontline soldiers of disaster relief. With modern technology, their ability to save lives will multiply,” he stated.

At the same time, the government has begun registering citizens for the Resilience Corps. Within a week, more than 4,000 people signed up online to assist in flood relief operations. Volunteers will receive professional training and equipment to match international rescue standards.

Officials said the corps will strengthen Civil Defense as the backbone of disaster response in Punjab. Trained staff and volunteers will be deployed to inaccessible areas, enabling faster evacuations and targeted relief delivery.
