The incident occurred around 10 a.m. when an air ambulance, operated by the Ministry of Health, collided with the top floor of the hospital during takeoff. The helicopter then plunged into a vacant area near the building, resulting in devastating loss.

Stationed in Muğla for official duties, the helicopter had been grounded the previous day due to adverse weather conditions. This morning, it attempted to fly to Antalya but encountered dense fog shortly after takeoff. The poor visibility caused the helicopter to crash into the hospital and later into the courtyard.

Emergency services, including medical, fire, and search-and-rescue teams, responded swiftly, securing the site to begin rescue and containment efforts. Authorities immediately implemented strict security measures as the operations unfolded.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the heartbreaking deaths of four staff members, including two pilots, a doctor, and a healthcare worker.

Muğla, celebrated for its scenic beauty and coastal charm, is reeling from this unexpected tragedy. The loss has left a profound impact on the local community and raised questions about aviation safety under challenging weather conditions.

An official investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the crash, with authorities working to uncover the sequence of events that led to this catastrophic accident.
