“At Yango, the well‑being of our partner’s drivers, as well as passengers, have always been our top priority. We have said it before, and we will say it again: our partner’s drivers are at the heart of what we do at Yango, and ensuring their safety on the roads is as important as creating earning opportunities for them. Partnering with local traffic police and community leaders allows us to take meaningful steps toward safer roads for everyone,” said Miral Sharif, Country Head, Yango Pakistan. At the Lahore event, senior representatives from Yango including Zaheer Ahmad, Head of Operations, joined Fahad Ahmad, SSP Lahore Traffic Police, and Farrukh Raees, DSP Lahore Traffic Police, in distributing helmets and addressing driver safety protocols.
In Islamabad / Rawalpindi, the session was led by Jahangir Khan, Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs at Yango, and featured Malik Usman Shaukat, President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce; Qazi Khalil Farooq, Vice President RCCI; and Qaiser Mehmood, DSP Traffic Civil Lines, Rawalpindi. DSP Mehmood presented alarming statistics on bike-related accidents and emphasized the urgency of stricter road safety enforcement and awareness campaigns. Law enforcement and business community leaders applauded Yango for integrating safety into its core operations and for taking direct action to reduce driver vulnerability.
By providing free helmets, promoting awareness, and collaborating with traffic authorities, Yango is reinforcing the message that mobility platforms carry responsibility—not just in service, but in safety. The company expects this initiative to set a precedent for the ride-hailing sector and foster more secure road behavior citywide.
