PTA revealed the true cause of the internet outage

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued an official statement in response to the recent reports of internet service degradation across the country. According to the statement, internet services were disrupted for roughly half an hour in a few places on Monday, and the problem was resolved quickly after it was discovered.

The internet services have been fully restored, and subscribers now have unrestricted access to a variety of services, according to the statement. In addition, the PTA established a high-level group to analyse the causes of the country’s internet service decline,



Which was reported on Monday. PTA also announced earlier this month that it would drop the mobile termination rate (MTR) in a gradual manner to lower call prices across all networks.

MTR fares were initially decreased from Rs. 0.70 to Rs. 0.50 per minute. The MTR will be reduced to Rs. 0.40 per minute in the following phase, which will begin in July. The final phase will begin in July of next year, with MTR fares reduced to Rs. 0.30 per minute.
