The Pakistani women’s cricket team won yet another warm-up match ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup. Pakistan continued their winning streak by defeating Bangladesh in a nail-biting conclusion. In a truncated 42-over encounter, Pakistan’s seasoned hitters Javeria Khan and captain Bismah Maroof struck 44 and 32 runs, respectively, before Aliya Riaz upped the pace with a fast 45-run knock to push the total to 199/7.

In response, Bangladesh were swept out for 194 after failing to cope with the world-class bowling of Fatima Sana and Nashra Sandhu. The match was won by Pakistan by 5 runs. Nida Dar and Diana Baig, two of Pakistan’s most seasoned bowlers, helped the team defend the mark. This will provide the team a much-needed boost of confidence before the big event. This was Pakistan’s second straight win in World Cup warm-up games. They had earlier shocked the cricketing world by defeating New Zealand by four wickets.
