Despite a month-on-month decline in November, car sales for the first five months of FY24 reached 38,534 units, marking a 50% increase from 25,746 units in the same period last year.

Sales of jeeps, vans, and pickups experienced a slight dip in November, falling to 2,191 units from 2,551 in October. However, these sales surged by 55% during the July-November period, reaching 12,259 units compared to 7,891 units in 2023.
According to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), car sales in November fell by 25.08%, dropping to 7,909 units from 10,557 in October. November 2023 sales had been 4,875 units.
The total sales of jeeps, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and vans in November were recorded at 2,191 units, down from 2,551 units in October but up from 1,600 units in November 2023.
PAMA also introduced a new category for electric vehicles (EVs), with Dewan’s Horni VE showing production and sales of 70 and 63 units, respectively.
Mashood Ali Khan, an auto parts expert, commented that the year-on-year increase in sales was a positive sign, indicating the industry’s gradual recovery.
During the 5MFY25 period, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) saw a 41% rise in sales to 25,812 units, while Indus Motor Company (IMC) experienced a 67% increase to 10,886 units. Honda Atlas Cars Ltd sales grew by 50% to 5,974 units, and Sazgar Engineering saw a remarkable 233% increase to 4,191 units. However, Hyundai Nishat’s sales slightly declined by 1%, totaling 3,324 units.
Sales of two- and three-wheelers also saw a 26% increase during the July-November period, reaching 578,364 units, up from 459,459 units last year.
The tractor industry, comprising Massey Ferguson and Al-Ghazi, recorded 3,428 units sold in November, a 2% year-on-year decrease but a recovery of 98% month-on-month. Tractor sales for the first five months of FY25 dropped by 50%, totaling 10,367 units compared to 20,806 units last year.
Meanwhile, truck and bus sales showed improvement, reaching 1,605 units during July-November FY25, up from 857 units in the same period last fiscal year.
