BusinessFatima Fertilizer Crosses the $1 Billion Market Cap Milestone, Expands into Oil & Gas Ventures
Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited has officially crossed the USD 1 billion market capitalization threshold, joining a select group of firms commanding such valuation. This achievement reflects the company’s strong fundamentals, diversified growth strategy, and investor confidence in its trajectory. The surge was fueled by robust performance in fertilizer margins, consistent dividend payments, and a solid net cash position.

“This milestone affirms both our operational strength and the faith of stakeholders in our long-term vision,” said a Fatima group executive. The company benefited from elevated margins in its NP-Phos rock segment, strong inventory positioning, and consistent performance in its urea business, which collectively underpinned the stock rally. Fatima’s shares closed at Rs 141.04, up Rs 12.82 (+10%) on the day of the announcement.
Expanding beyond fertilizers, Fatima’s wholly owned subsidiary, Fatima Petroleum Company Limited, has entered a farm-out agreement with Hycarbex American Energy Inc. Under this deal, Fatima Petroleum will acquire a 25% non-operating working interest in the Peshawar block pending regulatory approval. “This move signals our ambition to diversify and play a meaningful role in Pakistan’s burgeoning energy landscape,” the executive added.
This milestone comes at a time when Pakistan’s agriculture sector faces gas constraints and input inflation. Fatima’s success reinforces the value of integrating upstream ventures and leveraging balance sheet strength to extend into related sectors. By doing so, the company not only fortifies its core fertilizer business but also positions itself for future growth in Pakistan’s strategic energy domain.
