The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has officially commenced operations at its new facility in the Karachi Export Processing Zone, signaling a bold leap in Pakistan’s halal meat processing and export capacity. “Opening our operations in the Export Processing Zone puts us at the heart of trade infrastructure and enables the scale, compliance, and logistics support needed for international markets,” said a TOMCL executive. The facility is equipped for cold chain management, boneless meat processing, sanitization systems, packaging, and quality control modules that align with leading halal certification standards.
The move also addresses longstanding challenges in Pakistan’s meat export sector—fragmented supply, inconsistent quality, and logistical bottlenecks. By situating the plant within the EPZ, TOMCL will access duty benefits, superior infrastructure, and proximity to port connectivity, accelerating exports to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and beyond. The company leadership stated that the new facility will not only raise export volumes but also stabilize supply for domestic markets through improved processing and storage efficiencies.
