Spotify’s RADAR initiative, which spotlights emerging artists from around the world, has made a significant impact in Pakistan. It has helped support and elevate local talent to the next level of their careers by providing them with a global platform to showcase their music. In the second quarter of 2023, Maanu has been given the same opportunity to shine on this stage.

Maanu has captured the hearts of his fans through his catchy lyrics and unique blend of R&B and pop that gives a fresh take to his music and doesn’t limit it to a certain genre. RADAR is thrilled to showcase this emerging artist with an exclusive mini-documentary that not only explores Maanu’s journey so far and the unwavering passion that fuels his artistry, but also marks the first time AI has been integrated into the visual design. As a special treat, audiences will get to enjoy Maanu’s latest single, 2 MINUTES // SMOG CITY, which will be released as part of the documentary.
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be the next Spotify RADAR artist. It’s a great chance to tell my story my way, and to work with the people I’m closest to in order to showcase it. Spotify has been a great partner to many artists like myself since arriving in Pakistan and is constantly striving to help us grow our fan base which matters the most”, said Maanu while sharing his excitement.
“It’s also a huge bonus that this announcement coincides with the release of my next album YIN // YAIN which listeners will get a glimpse of through the RADAR documentary. I hope to use the push given by the campaign to try and ensure this next album reaches as many people as possible.”
“We’re incredibly excited to amplify Maanu as the next RADAR Pakistan artist. His music has resonated well with Pakistani audiences and it’s time to elevate his music to a global audience unlike ever before. Maanu will release his newest single exclusively with RADAR Pakistan which proves RADAR Pakistan to be the home for emerging artists across the nation. I can only imagine what lies ahead for Maanu, but for now, we’re glad to be a part of his journey,” said Khan FM, Spotify’s Artist & Label Partnerships Manager for Pakistan, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh.
Maanu takes pride in being a follower of the Pakistani indie scene, citing Sikandar ka Mandar, Janoobi Khargosh, Faris Shafi, and Talal Qureshi as some of his favorites. While Faris has had a direct influence on his music, Maanu refuses to limit himself to the label of an indie musician. He prefers to be known as an artist who sets his own thresholds, blazing a trail with his signature sound.
