The increase followed gains in the international market, where gold rose by $59 to $4,184 per ounce, according to the association. No other drivers were cited in the report.
Silver also moved higher on the day. It gained Rs144 to Rs6,512 per tola.
Local bullion rates are set by the sarafa association and track the international price closely, so buyers and jewellers usually see changes in Pakistan within hours of moves overseas.
