The capital city is bracing for a week of varying weather conditions, including further rain and potential thunderstorms, as the monsoon system remains active across the region.

Currently, the temperature in Islamabad stands at 31°C, but the humidity levels (68%) make it feel considerably warmer, at 36°C. Light easterly winds are blowing at 10 km/h (6 mph), and the UV index is moderate at 4. There is a 75% chance of rain today, with approximately 0.54 inches of rainfall expected. Tonight, the skies are forecast to clear with periodic clouds, and a 15% chance of rain, with the low dropping to 25°C.

Outlook for the Coming Week: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) indicates that the monsoon spell will continue to influence Islamabad’s weather patterns over the next seven days:

  • Friday, July 18: Light rain is expected during the day, with mostly cloudy skies at night. The high will be around 32°C and the low 25°C.
  • Saturday, July 19 – Monday, July 21: The weekend will see partly cloudy conditions. Highs will hover around 32-33°C, with lows around 26-27°C. There’s a 70% chance of rain on Monday night.
  • Tuesday, July 22: Light rain is forecast throughout the day and night, with temperatures reaching a high of 30°C and a low of 24°C. Humidity will be high at 85%.
  • Wednesday, July 23: A heavy thunderstorm is anticipated during the day, transitioning to light rain at night. Temperatures will be cooler, with a high of 28°C and a low of 24°C.
  • Thursday, July 24: Scattered thunderstorms are expected during the day, with a chance of showers at night. The high will be 28°C and the low 24°C.
