The league announced the development through its official social media channels, stating that six bids have been received for the ownership rights of the Multan Sultans — one of the most popular teams in the league’s history.
The process to attract buyers for the franchise was launched by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in January, after owner Ali Tareen revealed his decision to step away from the team, ending his association with the franchise following strains in relations with the board.
The deadline for submitting technical documents was revised during the process, with interested parties required to meet PCB’s criteria to qualify for the bidding round. Once the final proposals are reviewed, the successful bidder will secure ownership rights ahead of PSL 11, which is scheduled to begin on March 26 with the player auction set for February 11.
Last month, the PCB had also invited bidders for two newly added teams — Hyderabad and Sialkot — as part of the league’s expansion from six to eight franchises.
The strong interest from bidders reflects the growing commercial value of PSL franchises as the league continues to expand its footprint in Pakistan’s cricket landscape.
