Safety First: Recognizing the importance of player and spectator safety, authorities have implemented robust security measures. Over 5,000 security personnel will be deployed, ensuring a secure environment throughout the event. Additional measures include walk-through gates, CCTV cameras, and NADRA verification counters at entry points. Encroachments along access routes have also been removed to ensure smooth movement of players, staff, and spectators.
Beyond Security: Commissioner Aamir Khattak emphasized the importance of hospitality. He urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and showcase the warmth and welcoming nature of Pakistan to international players who will be witnessing the country’s cricketing fervor.
Enhanced Match Experience: To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all, the authorities have taken several steps. The food street adjacent to the stadium will be closed during the matches (February 28th to March 10th) to maintain order and manage crowds effectively. Parking spaces will be available at Rawal Park and Satellite Town College, with a shuttle service ferrying spectators to the stadium.
Additional measures include:
- Dedicated control room for real-time monitoring of all arrangements.
- Presence of a bomb disposal squad, ambulances, and fire brigade personnel at the stadium for immediate response to any emergencies.
- Uninterrupted power supply ensured by Iesco to avoid disruptions during matches.
- Deployment of 100 sanitation workers from the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company to maintain stadium cleanliness throughout the event.
With comprehensive security measures, thoughtful logistics, and a focus on hospitality, the Rawalpindi administration is geared up to deliver a thrilling and secure PSL experience for everyone involved.
