Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani is visiting Pakistan on October 7 for a two-day trip aimed at expanding trade, investment and security cooperation, as reported by Arab News.
He is due to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and the two will co-chair the third Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission.
The talks cover trade and investment, defence and security cooperation, labour and manpower exchanges, cultural ties, and regional and international developments.
Bilateral trade currently stands above $550 million, with both countries aiming to reach $1 billion within three years. More than 150,000 Pakistanis live and work in Bahrain.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Bahrain in November 2025, and the two countries’ interior ministers agreed last year to strengthen cooperation on counterterrorism, human trafficking and narcotics. The visit comes amid regional tensions following the Iran-Israel-US conflict that has affected Gulf states.
