PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has called for unconditional talks with the government after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s dialogue offer came with a condition that the party end its long march toward Islamabad.
Speaking at Parliament House on Wednesday, Gohar said negotiations should continue without a break and that talks would be needed even if the march reached the capital. He said the march was expected to reach Islamabad on October 11 or 12, with its route running from Peshawar through Khyber to Pir Wadhai in Rawalpindi.
He noted that PTI had formed its negotiating committee before the government’s offer, and insisted that negotiations should be unconditional.
On Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gohar called the situation very serious. He opposed Governor’s Rule or an emergency and urged that matters be handled through constitutional channels. He also said he planned to meet ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan and invite him to an All Parties Conference.
