Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Azerbaijan and Pakistan enjoy cordial relations based upon common religious and cultural values. He said that Parliament to Parliament contacts of both countries would enhance relations between both nations. He expressed these views during his meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan Mr. Khazar Farhadov who called on him in the Parliament House today.

Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan is a safe destination for investment in the field of Energy, Trade, and Information Technology. He appreciated the unequivocal stance of Azerbaijan on the issue of Kashmir and said that the world needs to take notice of atrocities and brutalities on innocent people of illegally Indian Occupied Jummu and Kashmir(IIOJK). He also reiterated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia. He said that the peace of the region is dependent upon the peaceful resolution of disputes like IIOJK and Nagorno-Karabakh as per the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. He also applauded the active participation of Speaker of Mili Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova along with the Parliamentary delegation in the PAECO Conference held in Islamabad.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan Mr. Khazar Farhadov appreciated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan. He also appreciated Pakistan’s role in regional connectivity and peace. He said that Armenian aggression in the region is dangerous for the peace of the region and of the world. He said that Azerbaijan values high its ties with Pakistan and is looking forward to further enhance bilateral ties. He said that People to people contacts are vital for the prosperity and progress of both countries.
