The PIA Boeing 787 has received clearance to operate in Pakistan for the first time, after a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) delegation led by Director General Nader Shafi Dar inspected the aircraft at Oslo Airport and approved its operation.
PIA Boeing 787 Schedule and Fleet Plans
A second Boeing 787 will be inspected at Oslo Airport on Monday, while the third is scheduled for inspection at London Airport on November 20.
Earlier this month, PIA signed a deal with Norwegian aviation group Norse Atlantic for two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to expand its long-haul capacity between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
The airline’s first Boeing 787 flight, PK-786, will depart London for Islamabad on October 31 and land with passengers on November 1. PIA will also introduce a new staff uniform on the same day. The three 787s are expected to strengthen the airline’s international network, while PIA is also upgrading cabins on its Boeing 777 fleet.
