The victim, who works at the prestigious fashion house Tena Durrani, displayed extraordinary courage when she leapt out of the moving car to save herself — an act that led to the suspect’s swift arrest.
According to her account, the nightmare began moments after booking a ride via InDrive. The driver allegedly refused to start the ride on the app, veered off the designated route, and made inappropriate advances. Sensing the threat to her life, the young woman acted decisively — jumping out of the car while it was still in motion and sprinting toward a nearby police mobile for help.
Her immediate report and detailed description of the vehicle enabled law enforcement to launch a rapid chase, intercepting the suspect at a traffic signal and taking him into custody. The accused now faces serious charges of attempted kidnapping and harassment.
This brazen attack has sparked outrage, raising serious questions about passenger safety on ride-hailing apps. Citizens are demanding stricter background checks for drivers and accountability from InDrive for allowing such individuals on their platform.
Authorities are praising the student’s courage and urging the public to stay alert, report suspicious drivers, and demand better safety measures from ride-hailing services.
