Under the auspices of Punjab Arts Council, a Naatia Mushaira was organized in association with Bazm-e-Ahbab Qalam to mark Ashra Shan-e-Rehmatul-lil-Aalamin. Member Punjab Assembly Seemabia Tahir was the chief guest of the event while renowned poet Dr. Farhat Abbas presided over the poetry recital.

Senior poetess Mahmooda Ghazia was the guest of honor. Prof. Khalil Ahmad performed the duties of anchor. The poets who recited their poetry included Dawood Kaif, Chanda Khairy, Ali Asghar Samar, Mahmooda Ghazi, Dr. Farhat Abbas and others.
Addressing the gathering, Punjab Assembly member Seemabia Tahir said that following the example of the Prophet is the success of this world and the hereafter. She said that the manner in which the poets paid homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through their poetry and described His attributes was commendable.
She said that the Holy Prophet always insisted on the rights of the people and proved to be a practical role model. She further added that the state of Madinah is a symbol of justice and equality. Seemabia Tahir said that the present government is also running the country on the style of the state of Madinah where justice is being given priority to the poor and the needy.

Naheed Manzoor said that in order to eliminate class injustices, it is necessary to follow the principles of the state of Madinah. Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmad said that for the first time in the history of the country, the Punjab government has celebrated the Ashra Shan-e- Rehmatil-lul-Alamin with religious fervor.
