At the 14th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Awards 2022, organised by the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) in Islamabad, leading multinational company Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited (PMPKL) was named the winner in two categories: “Waste Management/Recycling” and “Green Energy Initiatives,” recognising its efforts for the betterment of the environment and society.

NFEH is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation whose mission is to support, promote, and assist in the creation of environmental, healthcare, and educational awareness among the general public. The National Foundation for the Environment and Humanity (NFEH) examines and honours organisations that have a positive impact on the environment and society at large each year. PMPKL’s work for programmes connected to environmental, social, and economic sustainability were recognised with awards for “Waste Management/Recycling” and “Green Energy Initiatives.”

PMPKL and SEED Ventures have teamed up to carry out #MissionCleanerPakistan. On World Cleanup Day, a cleanup campaign was held at Clifton Beach, Sea View, Karachi, as part of the #MissioncleanerPakistan anti-littering programme. PMPKL carried out 20 anti-littering campaigns in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and Balakot as part of this project, with over 2400 volunteers collecting over 3300 KGs of rubbish. In addition, in line with its parent company, Phillip Morris International’s, goal of achieving carbon neutrality for direct operations by 2025, PMPKL has implemented a number of energy-saving initiatives at its manufacturing facility, which have resulted in a 41 percent reduction in energy consumption compared to the 2018 baseline.
