According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, the legislation provides a 25 percent discount on selected government and private sector services for senior citizens.

Presenting the bill, MNA Sharmila Farooqi said residents aged 60 and above would be able to access the benefits using their National Identity Cards, without requiring a separate senior citizen card.

During the meeting, MNA Nabeel Gabol recommended coordination with NADRA, noting that fingerprints of some elderly citizens may be unclear.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the initiative could be expanded across the country if it proves successful in Islamabad.
