Chairing the meeting, MNA Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz emphasized that police personnel must maintain professional conduct at all entry and exit points across the federal capital city.

He urged authorities to rapidly implement digital traffic management solutions to improve traffic flow and minimize congestion caused by security checkpoints and ongoing development projects in Islamabad.

The committee reviewed traffic congestion patterns, identifying high daily vehicle volumes, active development projects, and internal security checkposts as major contributors in critical areas across the city.

Specific problem areas highlighted included Lathrar Road at Taramri Chowk, Ali Pur Bank stop, IGP Road, Constitution Avenue, Chungi No. 26, and Airport Road in Islamabad.

Authorities were directed to equip police personnel at checkpoints with laptops or digital devices to facilitate swift vehicle identification and reduce unnecessary delays for motorists navigating the city.

The DIG Traffic/CTO Islamabad must submit a compliance and progress report in the next meeting, while the Ministry of Interior addresses manpower shortages in Islamabad Traffic Police.
