The most significant talking point of the selection is the inclusion of two uncapped players:

Tanzid Hasan Tamim: The 25-year-old left-handed opener, already a regular in the white-ball setup, finally breaks into the Test squad. With a first-class average of 40.72, selectors believe he is ready for the longest format.

Amite Hasan: A 24-year-old middle-order specialist who has been a standout performer in domestic cricket, boasting an impressive first-class average of 49.32.
The Return of the Pace Battery
In a major boost to the bowling attack, senior fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam return to the red-ball squad. Both bowlers had been absent from Test cricket since late 2024. Their return, combined with the raw pace of Nahid Rana and the experience of Ebadot Hossain, gives Bangladesh one of its most potent pace attacks in recent years.

Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, has already named a 16-man squad featuring four uncapped players and the return of Sarfaraz Ahmed—not as a player, but as the Head Coach for this tour. The Pakistani squad is scheduled to assemble in Karachi today, April 27, for a pre-tour camp before flying to Bangladesh on May 2.
