During 4Q21, Jazz, Pakistan’s largest internet and broadband service provider, invested PKR 13.9 billion in its ‘4G for all ambition’ campaign. Jazz’s total customer base increased by 9.2 percent year over year to 72.6 million, with 35.0 million 4G users and nearly 1,500 new 4G sites installed in the last year.
“Under our digital operator strategy, we are pursuing a three-pronged approach,” said Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz. “We are expanding the reach and capacity of our 4G network with consistent investment, especially in semi-urban and rural areas; strengthening our digital services portfolio to serve as our customers’ digital lifestyle partner; and driving financial inclusion with Pakistan’s leading fintech JazzCash.” The increasing levels of engagement on our digital platforms, as well as the fact that Jazz will contribute roughly half of the industry’s 4G subscriptions in 2021, reinforce our customer-centric operating strategy.”
JazzCash, Pakistan’s top fintech, had excellent growth, with 15.2 million monthly active users (+24.9 percent YoY) and 105,000 active agents. On its mobile app, JazzCash also launched AlaCart, a unique digital-first shopping experience that allows users to buy things and pay with their JazzCash accounts.
Jazz World, the company’s self-care app, continued to grow in popularity, with a monthly active user base of 9.8 million people. Other streaming and entertainment platforms, such as Jazz TV, Bajao, Jazz Cricket, and Deikho, had significant increases in month usage year over year.
