The battle for dominance in Pakistan’s premium double-cabin pickup segment intensified this week as Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL) officially launched the JAC T9 Frison 2X. The introduction of the new rear-wheel-drive (4×2) variant aims to redefine value in the local automotive market by offering high-end features at a significantly reduced price point compared to its rivals.

The official ex-showroom JAC T9 Frison price in Pakistan has been aggressively set at Rs. 8,775,000. This pricing strategy positions the Frison 2X as a direct, value-driven competitor against established models like the Isuzu D-Max and the flagship Toyota Hilux Revo, targeting urban and highway users who desire a luxurious, feature-rich pickup without the premium cost associated with a 4×4 drivetrain.

Premium Features at a Budget-Friendly Price:

The T9 Frison 2X is essentially the more accessible version of the existing T9 Hunter (4×4) model, retaining the bulk of its luxurious specifications. The key difference is the drivetrain: the Frison utilizes a 4×2 rear-wheel-drive system instead of the Hunter’s 4×4 setup.

Despite the change in drive configuration, the new variant maintains the powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, generating a robust 168 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Crucially, the premium safety and comfort features remain untouched, distinguishing it from lower-spec competitors. These include a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather-trimmed seats, automatic climate control, and a comprehensive safety suite with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera.

Booking and Market Impact:

Bookings for the JAC T9 Frison 2X are now officially open at Ghandhara dealerships nationwide, requiring an initial payment of Rs. 2,300,000. The company has indicated that deliveries are expected to commence in the coming months.

Industry analysts suggest that the strategic launch of the JAC T9 Frison 2X at a sub-Rs. 9 million price point will put significant pressure on rivals. The move provides local consumers with a high-specification lifestyle pickup, previously only available in the high-end SUV and top-tier sedan price brackets, further diversifying Pakistan’s evolving auto landscape.
