Xiaogui, adopted by Chen Feng in 2020, stunned audiences by sorting 10 colors in just 33.5 seconds. The attempt was more than just a test of speed. Judges noted that Xiaogui demonstrated problem-solving skills when he quickly corrected a mistake during the challenge.
His awareness and ability to adapt highlighted a level of intelligence rarely seen in pet birds.
According to Feng, the parrot’s journey began with play. Fascinated by colorful balls, Xiaogui spent hours handling them, which inspired Feng to transform his curiosity into training sessions. This structured practice turned a simple hobby into a world-class achievement.
Animal behavior specialists say Xiaogui’s success reflects the often-underestimated cognitive skills of parrots.
Studies have shown that many birds possess problem-solving abilities, memory retention, and emotional understanding. Xiaogui’s record, they say, is a reminder of how human interaction and encouragement can unlock such hidden potential.
This extraordinary achievement stands as a testament to the incredible abilities that pets can possess. It not only highlights Xiaogui’s unique talent but also shows how the right encouragement and care can help animals reach their full potential. Xiaogui’s story is an inspiration for pet lovers everywhere, demonstrating how playful training can turn an ordinary bird into a world-record holder.
